Brief Description

As a Software Development Apprentice you will predominantly work within our Customer Pillar, which aims to provide the best product and user experience to the person ordering food from our apps and web pages.

Qualifications Required

- You have to be 18 years old and over and must have lived in the UK / EEA for the last 3 years
- You can’t already have a degree which is too similar (e.g. Computer Science Degree)
- Must have GCSE Maths and English (Grades A-D or 9-4) (or equivalent)
- Must have 3 A Levels or BTEC Level 3 or a Level 3 Apprenticeship (or equivalent)

Skills Required

- Demonstrated interested in technology as a career
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Self motivated able to use your own initiative as well as being highly organised with a keen eye for detail
- Enthusiastic and driven to deliver in a dynamic, fast paced environment

Training to be Provided

Our Level 6 standard is integrated with a degree in Digital & Technology solutions which is validated by the Open University. Each cohort spends their first 6 weeks at college taking part in our Launchpad training.

This training not only covers modules for the degree programme but also ensures to prepare you for the workplace. Following the Launchpad training you will return to your employer for 7-8 weeks returning to Ada for one-week blocks on a rotation basis.

Future Prospects

Study and work towards the completion of a Digital & Technology Solutions Professional (DTSP) Level 6 Degree and will meet the criteria of the ‘Software Engineering’ pathway. This is made up of technical training, workplace projects, off the job learning and an end point assessment

Vacancy Detail

You will get exposure to: iOS, Android, Web, Front End, Back End and Quality Assurance across various tech stacks. This will help you to develop your
knowledge and technical competency in software engineering whilst successfully supporting to deliver key business projects.

These are some of the key ingredients of the role:

● Assist in the design, coding and testing of technical solutions, under the guidance of the team.
● Work on assignments, providing support to the team in the delivery of duties and project milestones.
● Support the review, analysis and modification of technical solutions.
● Support project activities, including liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
● Write automated unit and acceptance tests with help from other engineers within the team.

The Apprenticeship:
As part of this apprenticeship, you will study and work towards the completion of a Digital & Technology Solutions Professional (DTSP) Level 6 Degree and will meet the criteria of the ‘Software Engineering’ pathway. This is made up of technical training, workplace projects, off the job learning and an end point assessment.

The role will require you to work 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, with 1 week in approx. every 8 spent training with ADA and the other 7 weeks working at Just Eat. You will receive a 25 days holiday package along with an additional day for your Birthday.

Recruitment Process:
- First stage: Apply to ADA, The National College for Digital Skills - Successful applicants will be screened for eligibility and then short listed to complete an online assessment

- Second stage: All shortlisted applicants will be invited to complete an online assessment via our third party company Hirevue. This will consist of two gamified assessments & five video interview questions that you can complete on any smartphone, tablet or computer/laptop. (please let Ada know if you do not have access to a device, we can support with this).

- Third Stage: Top scoring applicants will be invited to a screening call with the JET talent acquisition team.

- Fourth (Final) Stage: Successful finalists will be invited to an assessment day at our London office (lunch and all materials provided).

Assessment Day:
You will be given a tour of the office and then the assessment day will consist of the following:
- Presentation -A scenario will be shared in advance, giving you time to prepare. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A
- Group exercise - Get to know each other and work on a task together
- Coding exercise - Complete a tech test
- Interview - A chance for us to get to know you
- Lunch Q&A with the team - Pose your questions to the team
