Brief Description

During the apprenticeship you’ll work in the PwC Manchester Technology Centre. You’ll work on cutting-edge digital and technology projects, supported by a community of technologists from across the firm.

Qualifications Required

Candidates should have or be expecting to achieve at least 112 UCAS points, or equivalent, with a substantial maths component for those pursuing the Data pathway.

However, we understand that personal circumstances and your socio-economic background (e.g. family income) can impact your ability to fulfill your full potential at school. If you think that this may apply to you, we’d be keen to hear from you if you’re on track to achieve a minimum of 96 UCAS points (or equivalent) and can demonstrate the relevant skills and interest.

You will need a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

Please note that to be eligible for an apprenticeship in England, the government does require that you have UK/EEA Nationality or Permanent Residency Status and have resided in the UK/EEA for at least 3 years prior to starting your apprenticeship.

This programme is for students who do not already have a Computer Science (or similar) degree, and who are starting out a career in the fields of software engineering, cyber security or data science. Training to be Provided

Our Level 6 standard is integrated with a degree in Digital & Technology solutions which is validated by the Open University. Each cohort spends their first 6 weeks at college taking part in our Launchpad training.

This training not only covers modules for the degree programme but also ensures to prepare you for the workplace. Following the Launchpad training you will return to your employer for 7-8 weeks returning to Ada for one-week blocks on a rotation basis.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship – there may be an opportunity for a permanent role or further training

What you’ll do

The Flying Start Technology Degree Apprenticeship programme based in Manchester with Ada College, lasts three years and will fast track your career in Technology.

During the apprenticeship you’ll work in the PwC Manchester Technology Centre, underpinned by a community of technologists from across the firm to interact and connect with, providing you with the support you need to develop and grow in your role.

As part of this community you’ll work on cutting-edge digital and technology projects to apply your apprenticeship learning, developing and delivering technology products and assets, supporting both our internal teams and our clients.

At PwC, our technology teams are diverse, ranging from Cyber Security, Data and Analytics, Technology Consulting and Forensic Technology to name but a few and our Manchester Technology Centre is just as diverse, split into three areas looking at demand, supply and data.

What you’ll gain

As part of the apprenticeship you’ll study towards a Level 6 degree apprenticeship in BSc Digital and Technology Solutions, specialising as either a Data Analyst, Software Engineer or Cyber Security specialist.

We will work with you to decide which pathway is the right choice for you based on your skill set, CV, experience, preferences and the business need.

The pattern of study is designed to fit around your full-time employment and uses a blended learning approach, which mixes work-based study and full-time attendance at college study weeks. You’ll spend approximately 80% of your time at PwC and 20% at Ada.

A Digital & Technology Solutions Professional provides technology enabled solutions to internal and/or external customers, in a range of areas including software, cyber security and data analysis

They implement technology solutions that enable businesses to develop new products and services and to increase an organisations productivity using digital technologies.

They are confident, competent and capable independent Technology Solutions Professionals able to operate in a range of related roles.

The occupation is based upon a core set of outcomes that will be identified by employers.
